Kritiki (Criticism) remained faithful to its initial commitments: it became the organ of the first postwar generation, as it publicized the critical discourse of the intelligentsia, especially poets and critics, in the early postwar period, thus taking the first step in their systematic expression. It did not become ideologically entrenched in the ideological and political dispute of the period, because it checked and criticized – in democratic, pluralistic terms – which was why dialogue found fertile ground in its columns”.
