Content Description (long):

"The first volume contains introductory notes and a preface by the author […]. It is followed by a general introduction about the press of the Dodecanese with reference to the socio-economic conditions prevailing from the mid-19th century on, to the situation among typesetters and journalists, to the censorship regime, and to the presence of the diaspora press with special reference to its role in promoting the Dodecanesian Question. Reference is likewise made to the press during the period of freedom, as well as to publishers and editors from the Dodecanese, who published or managed printed matter without Dodecanesian content. The main part of the book refers to the Rhodian press, with an introduction describing the conditions that prevailed on the island and in its press, from the period of Turkish rule to the present. It is followed by a chronological presentation of 214 entries, accompanied by illustrations.

The second volume covers the press of the individual islands of the Dodecanese, except for Rhodes, whether published on the islands or in other places where there were communities of diaspora islanders […]

The third volume concerns the Dodecanesian press of the diaspora and includes appendixes. […] [Likewise] it refers to Dodecanesian publishers, managers and editors-in-chief who produced publications of non-Dodecanesian content, which are cited. The appendixes that follow include press associations of Dodecanesian interest, an outline of the legal framework governing the press in the Dodecanese, the bibliography, the libraries, a general index of names and also a photographic insert that includes historic personalities of the press, typographers, printers and advertisements in the press […]".
